Interior Designer (Part-Time & Remote)

About the Role

Samar Interiors is looking for a creative, detail-oriented Interior Designer to join our team on a part-time basis. This is a unique hybrid role that offers the flexibility of remote work alongside the hands-on experience of site consultations and project execution.

You will be the creative engine behind our projects, transforming empty spaces into functional, aesthetic environments that reflect our clients’ personalities and needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Client Consultation: Meet with clients at their premises to understand their vision, budget, and spatial requirements.

  • Space Planning: Create detailed 2D interior plans and furniture layouts.

  • Visual Design: Develop comprehensive mood boards and high-quality 3D renders to help clients visualize the end result.

  • Material Selection: Advise on color palettes, finishes, lighting, and furniture.

  • Project Oversight: Ensure the design intent is maintained during the implementation phase.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Education: A Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Interior Design, Architecture, or a closely related field.

  • Work Experience: Minimum 2 Years Work Experience in a related position.

  • Portfolio: A strong portfolio demonstrating your design process, 3D rendering skills, and successfully completed projects (Applications without a portfolio will not be considered).

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, ArchiCAD, SketchUp, Revit, or V-Ray/Lumion.

  • Mobility: Must be able to travel to client sites for measurements and consultations.

  • Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills to manage client expectations and collaborate effectively with the Samar Interiors team.

Compensation & Benefits

We offer a hybrid payment structure that rewards both your time and your project success:

  • Base Salary: Fixed monthly retainer of Ksh 10,000.

  • Commission: An additional commission for every project you successfully consult on and complete. Usually ranges between Ksh 20,000 – 40,000 per month.

  • Flexibility: Work from the comfort of your home for the design and planning phases.
